Description
6 Sticks
Origin: Peru
Our Peruvian Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens), or “holy wood” comes with six sticks in this set. When burned it has a very fresh and resinous scent with hints of mint and citrus. It is often used in ceremonial practices for cleansing. Burning Palo Santo sticks is a sacred practice used by Indigenous communities of the Andes to cleanse their space and ward off evil spirits. This practice is called smudging.
Our Palo Santo Smudge Sticks are from an ethical Wildcrafter in Peru. Only the fallen branches and twigs of the tree are gathered. The plants were not harmed and nothing was wasted, as Palo Santo is on the endangered list; therefore, our supplier does replant Palo Santo trees on the land to meet increased demand in the future.
